About State Intellectual Property Office About State Intellectual Property Office

Intellectual Property Section is entrusted to act as the operating arm of the Sarawak Information Technology and Resources Council (SITRC) which is the central authority in the State to oversee the protection and management of IP/IPR in the State in accordance with the Intellectual Property Legislations or Law of Malaysia and the SITRC Ordinance. 

The State Government has embarked on the State IP Management initiative to help create an effective intellectual property system for Sarawak and it is hope that through the State IP mechanism and the ownership of intellectual property rights, the State can protect and manage State IP/IPR and to derive more economic, social and other benefits to help move our economy up the value chain.

Goals of Intellectual Property Section

To established and maintain the State Intellectual Property institutional frameworks and operating structures and processes to manage intellectual property ownership, rights and properties.
